Thanksgiving Parade Helium: Too Expensive?
The cost to fill all those balloons is nearly twice what it was 15 years ago.
Last month, we took a look at the recent rise in the cost of domestic helium, and how it might affect balloon-dependent civic events like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Since today's the big day, I've reposted a portion of that article here, with some small updates.
Since then, for one thing, Knoxville, Tennessee, has announced that the parade portion of its Dogwood Arts Festival will be cancelled next year, due in part to a smaller number of balloons.
