This Mexican Neighborhood Lives Inside a Huge Mural

A hillside has become a psychedelic hump, with paint splashed on more than 200 homes.

What’s it like to live in a painting? Residents of Pachuca probably know, as an entire neighborhood there has been decorated to look like a swirling, polychromatic galaxy.

Germen Crew has spent months prepping walls and splashing designs in the hillside district of Las Palmitas, located about 60 miles northeast of Mexico City. The result is a candy-colored “macromural” perfect for drawing gasps from airline passengers. A warren of paths deeper in the hillside will be similarly gorgeous, as Germen says (via Facebook) on “the inside there will be murals,” too.
