These Paper Puzzles Fold Up Into Globes

And some of them even glow in the dark.
Basic Origami Globe/Geografia

For the globetrotters and geography enthusiasts looking for a DIY way to explore the world, Geografia has created an origami puzzle with two purposes: when it’s laid out flat, it functions as a trendy map you can pin to the wall; when it’s folded up just right, it creates a geographically accurate globe.

Distributed in the U.S. this spring by MSY, the maps come in about 15 different varieties, including larger and smaller sizes, several different colors and shapes, and even a glow-in-the-dark version that looks like a view of the world’s city lights at nighttime. The company uses high-tech printing techniques to create the maps, which can be folded up into globes without the use of scissors, glue or any outside supplies, says MSY spokesperson Kazumasa Hirano.
