A Terrifying Airplane Crash in Taiwan

A jet struck a freeway and taxi before hitting the water, killing and injuring many.

A domestic plane out of Taipei's Songshan Airport crashed into a river Wednesday morning shortly after takeoff. The New York Times is reporting that at least 19 people have been killed, with 15 injured and two dozen missing.

During its plunge, the aircraft made a sharp bank over a freeway and smashed a taxi with its wing. Dashboard footage shows it barely avoiding running full-on into the roadway before careening into the Keelung River.
