Jeff Altman's grandfather loved to travel, and he left behind a remarkable collection of films that are now being preserved.
Jeff Altman is a professional film colorist based in Chicago. These days, he's spending most of his free time on a project that falls within his area of expertise in more ways than one: inspecting and editing the personal 16mm film collection of his well-traveled grandfather, Joseph.
For Altman, it's a deeply personal experience as well as a professional challenge. For anyone who subscribes to his YouTube page, it's a mid-century tour of the world's cities through the lens of a friendly stranger.
