In a region long desperate for growth, Buffalonians, it turns out, are uncomfortable going on the record on the matter. Afraid of getting fired or scaring away future business, the authors struggled to find local waiters, bartenders, or exotic dancers willing to speak openly about this ugly Canuck behavior. Their anonymous quotes, however, are telling.
