Scenes From the Back Seat of a Welsh Taxi
A photographer turned taxi driver captures six months' worth of the stories reflected in his rearview mirror.
One day, when Mike Harvey was driving a taxi around the Welsh town of Neath, he picked up a passenger (pictured above) with cuts all over his forehead. The guy had been injured in a fight and asked Harvey to drop him off at the hospital. This passenger had a really interesting story, but Harvey refuses to divulge more details citing the "cabbie code"—which requires him to be discreet about the information his passengers entrust him with.
"People would divulge aspects of their lives that they would probably rarely volunteer to a complete stranger," he says.
